hi! it's been a while since i last wrote for this blog. [checks date of last blog post] only two months, what? it feels like ages.

anyway, i'm back. i intend on writing at least one post a month here, but we'll see how that goes (probably badly). by the way, i have yet another blog, also here on leaflet, which is just called «mati's blog».

finally a place where you can read mati writings that aren't completely in lowercase like shitty instagram poetry

anything that's more technical or relating to linguistics and such is going to be posted there instead of here, by the way. as of now, there's only one very niche post about lojban loanwords, but expect more there as well sometimes. (i might even reupload the old marticles there!)

daily-life updates, "how's uni?" and such

well, i'm finally done with my first year of university as a japanese major. not very good grades, because i just balled it for the whole year, like i used to do in high school, but i hope i manage to change that next year. (i will however have to redo intro to literary studies 1 and 2, which i loathed. i hope i can get different professors this time.)

but, that's a problem for tomorrow me... or rather, march me. my classes only start in march, we have a really long summer break that lasts like what, four months? three? i don't even remember when my classes start but it's like late february at the very earliest. i'm at my parents' house now, and i'll probably stay here until school starts again.

i have also been (for better or for worse) been pulled back into gaming by my friend amanda. i hadn't played overwatch in a long while, but it's still just as fun as ever. they've also tried to make me play league with them but sorry i'm never playing league of legends.

anyway, being at my parents' house means i become more sedentary and lazy. i think i've only left the house once after i came here (which means i only left the house once in like, the last whole month.) i actually left the house for the first time (after i came here) yesterday, it was like 6pm and i decided to take a walk through town since my mom suggested that to me. i really should do that more, because being here means i also eat a lot. if the fridge is there and there are things in the fridge i will absolutely binge it, especially if it's sweets... #hoping i get back to uni weighing less than a hundred kilos.

lojban

since i mentioned lojban in the first post of this blog, i've actually gotten quite good at it. i wouldn't say i'm a fluent speaker in any way, but i've been progressing quite fast in the language. i can hold conversations in lojban — at least through text — even with experienced lojbanists... expect to see at least some lojban writing from me in the future :) maybe translated literature, or translated song lyrics (to la'acu'i mi co'a finti sa'u lo kibykarni notci be tai ti bau lo jbobau... toi)

i think that might be all i have to say? it's kind of hard to write about the interesting things that happen in your life when you're home all day and no interesting things happen in your life, but, well, at least have this song. the chorus part where it goes like "zero talking-talking-talking ♪" is especially

see you next time!
